NEED A CAPTION HERE

This is the spot where I tell you about myself. I’ll leave out the bit about my perfect family (it isn’t) or my perfect life (ditto). I’ll keep it short and sweet.

My name is Judith (you already know that), and I’m a late bloomer. I didn’t start writing—really writing, not just academics and journalism—till I was ready for Medicare. After twenty-five years obsessed with horses and then a riding accident that put me in a whole different life, I had to figure out, quick smart, what to do with it.

Other than horses, words were all I knew.

I didn’t want to go back to editing someone else’s words or organizing facts for boring publications. I wanted to write but didn’t have a clue how to get started. I wanted to write fiction, and that seemed as likely as a trip to the Milky Way.

I was lucky. Searching the web I ran across an online course called Fear of Writing. Within a week I was writing stories. Three years later I’m still writing stories, with a novel in the works and several more on the back burner.

Life is good.

Hi Judith. Reading your delightful and well crafted stories is a delicious escape from the hum drum. They leave us wanting more. Regarding your “late bloomer” comment, I was once told that it is better to be a late bloomer than to die on the vine. Some of us are mid-day rather than morning glories.
